Leander is paying for Round Rock's third source of water. Wake up Leander!
Leander is planning another Lake Travis project when its existing facility can still be tripled. Water from the Simsboro aquifer would service Leander's growth corridor of 183, 183A, and Ronald Reagan BLVD. The Simsboro aquifer would give Leander a long range water source and conjunctive use in a drought.
Round Rock touts the BCRUA as a model regional plan saying there would be three facilities instead of one. How is Round Rock forgetting about the Leander and Cedar Park current Lake Travis treatment plants?
Leander is going after the wrong water for its residents for the benefit of Round Rock and paying the lion's share to do it.
